Update to my review: Mike at H&R Block is great. He’s easy to work with and always has a sunny disposition that makes doing taxes feel a lot less stressful. He takes the time to understand our individual circumstances and consistently goes above and beyond to make sure we have everything we need when filing our taxes.

We’ve been going to Mike for years, and he not only remembers us, but also takes the time to ask how we’re doing. That personal touch means a lot. And most importantly, he does an excellent job on our taxes. Highly recommend him.

Update - I addressed my concerns to the email provided. No response was given, and I am unsurprised to see that the individual mentioned in my review is still there.

I'm very grateful to have avoided this disaster of a tax preparation office. There are too many red flags to list, but I'll do my best.
1. You walk up the stairs to see a chaotic mess, a line of disgruntled people, and a very unhappy customer being serviced by a very casually dressed employee. It is the kind of dirty that makes you want to immediately go wash your hands.
2. There's no privacy - I can hear everything being said between the customer and the employee "Mike". It's not pleasant.
3. Mike, almost finished with the customer, gets up says to one person "you're my appointment." and tells the other five they'll have to wait.
4. I actually had an appointment from the online appointment selector, but according to Mike, that's a corporate tool, and "they" (I'm not sure who else is included) do not use it.
5. Mike berates me for assuming a confirmation email from "corporate" meant I had an appointment. "Quit making excuses about an email" he says repeatedly.
6. I get tired of the exchange and tell him I'll find another place to do my taxes. "Good luck finding someone" Mike says.

Overall, I think I dodged a bullet - if this is the level of professionalism, I can only assume how that would translate to my tax preparation. I would avoid at all costs.

It's truly a shame that Mike is allowed to interact with soldiers this way.

Mike at H&R Block on Panzer is always helpful and professional. He is very personable and takes the time to explain things clearly and makes sure everything’s done right. You can tell he cares about helping people out and respecting their time. I’ve worked with him a few times now, and it’s been a great experience every time. Highly recommend.

Had the displeasure of having Michael Yourkavitch file my 2022 taxes. Extremely unprofessional and disorganized - would give zero stars if possible. In my opinion, I would highly suggest looking elsewhere if you want your taxes done properly. There are way better options off post!

For having a simple tax filing, I think the cost for preparing was kinda high. In 2019, we were only charged $100.00

The overall experience with the tax specialist was good with my taxes done via email. However, what was nerve racking was the high preparation fees price that I was slapped with when it was my time to proceed and sign the completed tax documents online. I have never paid such a high fee on taxes ever(to be honest we felt robbed)and the explanation given after questioning didn’t really hold water but we took it. It will be more appropriate if you notify the customer of the fees right at the beginning of the process to enable them to make a decision to proceed at that cost or not. I did not like the idea of having to pay the high fees when I login online for me to proceed to see my returns/access documents for signature.
